On behalf of CAA, I am honoured to welcome you to our Institution. Throughout the life of this site, we shall seek to bring to the visitors the most relevant and up-to-date information about the life at CAA, from its internal organisation, management model, and portfolio of projects to activities of social responsibility and of support for the surrounding community.

  • To be the tuition, technical trainer and consultant of choice for chartered accountants and finance professionals in practice and commerce in Zimbabwe and beyond through:
  • Provision of world class tuition to Chartered Accountancy students
  • Development of quality literature for accounting and finance students in Zimbabwe
  • Provision of world class continuous professional development training to chartered accountants
  • Provision of value-adding technical and consultant services to commerce and chartered accountants in practice.

STRATEGIC GOALS

Vision 2020 achieving primal operational excellence

  • The Academy business has been firmly established for a barely 5-year-old organization. The CAA Board seeks to grow the business further by formulating a strategic plan that harnesses all the strength and potential CAA generated over the years and streamline its operations so that the business moves towards achieving operational excellence in all its operations. Achieving Operational excellence will mean CAA will be more than capable to nurture and train chartered accountants, grow its business in the most cost-effective manner possible while still ensuring high quality of service across all programmes.
  • To achieve this, CAA intends streamlining its core processes in order to become more effectively to respond to continually changing market forces in a cost-effective manner. The Academy will minimize redundancy and waste while leveraging the resources that contribute most to its success and utilizing the best of its workforce, technology, and business processes.
  • On the 2nd of November, 2015 The CAA board met and approved the 5-year strategic plan with a theme: ‘Vision 2020 achieving operational excellence’. The focus areas that were agreed upon for the implementation of the plan were approved and are as follows:
    • Provision of world class tuition to Chartered Accountancy students
    • Provision of world class continuous professional development training to chartered accountants
    • Development of quality literature for accounting and finance students in Zimbabwe
    • Provision of value-adding technical and consulting services to commerce and chartered accountants in practice.

THE CAA STORY – HISTORY

Founding and Purpose

Founded by Graham Cheater and Anesu Daka.

First CTA class under CAA was launched on the 9th of February 2011 at Jameson Hotel.

Past Progress

Since 2011 we have been TRUE to our cause offering:

  • UNISA ZCTA support Course (2011- date)
  • APC/PPE (2011- date)
  • ITC bridging course provider (2011- date)
  • Introduced CTA Full-time in collaboration with WITS University and ICAZ (2013-date)
  • In 2016 we introduced the CTA Part-Time

Lecturers – 11 fulltime lecturers with 5 of them being fully qualified chartered accountants and members of ICAZ.

Material – we now have a full compliment of localised material for the 4 core courses of FinAcc, Audit, Manfin and Zimbabwe Taxation

Exam setting –Zim Tax – 2013 to date for full-time class

2016 Zim Tax Examiners for the whole ZCTA program (incl. UNISA)

Exam marking – since 2013 we have been marking CTA exams with Wits providing quality assurance which has enabled CAA lecturers to amass vast experience in this process and also resulted in improved teaching techniques over time.

Use of IT – In 2014 we launched our online learning platform MyCAA which has enabled us to provide access and support to students from anywhere. 2 IT staff members (IT Administrator and Programmer)

Premises – our campus is located at the heart of Harare’s CBD which makes it easily accessible to all our students
