Bachelor of Science Honours in Professional Accounting
The Bachelor of Science Honours Degree in Professional Accounting (BSPA) is the first program of its kind in Zimbabwe. This 4-year part-time program combines academic learning (lectures) with practical training, offering a comprehensive education in accounting. It is specifically designed to meet the standards required to become a Chartered Accountant, contributing to the advancement of accounting training in the country.
The program’s structure follows a framework established by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Zimbabwe (ICAZ) and the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (SAICA), with a strong emphasis on practical skills and real-world knowledge. It also aligns with international standards for accounting education, ensuring that graduates are fully prepared for
the demands of the job market. The curriculum covers all essential knowledge and skills needed for success in the accounting profession, while also enabling students to apply their learning to real-world scenarios.
Graduates of the BSPA program are eligible to enrol in either the full-time or part-time CTA program for a duration of one year. Additionally, the degree opens pathways to further studies in other accounting-related fields, broadening career opportunities.

The program to be offered at the CAA campus of the future at 200 Upper East Road Mt Pleasant –
Lecturers for the program are Chartered Accountants.

On completion the students will be eligible for maximum possible exemption should they wish to pursue accountants’ professional qualifications with ACCA and CIMA.

External Auditor: The role of the external auditor is to independently verify the accuracy of the financial statements prepared by a company. The role is determined by legislation and regulations as all listed companies must be audited by a registered auditor.
Entry Requirements:
5 subjects at Ordinary Level including Mathematics and English.
At least two subjects at ‘A’ Level including Accounting or Mathematics or any other commercial subject.
