Initial Assessment of competence

After successfully completing the Zimbabwe Certificate in Theory of Accounting (ZCTA) from an ICAZ-accredited institution, candidates become eligible to take the Initial Assessment of Competence (IAC). The ZCTA certificate serves as the prerequisite qualification for IAC. This pivotal examination, assessing the competence of candidates, is offered biannually, with sittings available in both January and June each year.

IAC Board course

The ICAZ, in collaboration with CAA, provides a preparatory course for the Initial Assessment of Competence (ICC) exam. Although not mandatory, the course is highly recommended for students to enhance their preparation. The board course is conducted in April and May for the June IAC session and in December and January for the January IAC session.
